Bassist Kyle Eastwood is more on the fusion side than smooth. Living in Paris, he is inspired by the European styles of music, integrating those influences into American Jazz. Being the oldest son of legendary actor and director Clint Eastwood has given him a rich background of involvement in Clint's first love, jazz. Growing up in nearby Carmel, California, Kyle has been involved with the world renown Monterey Jazz Festival for as long as he can remember (Clint is on the Board of Directors). After considering directing as a career, we can be thankful he pursued his first love, music. Besides releasing his own solo CDs, Kyle has made a name for himself composing and/or scoring his father's movies, The Rookie (1990), Mystic River (2002), Million Dollar Baby (2004), Flags of Our Fathers (2006), Letters from Iwo Jima (2006), Changeling (2008), Gran Torino (2008), and Invictus (2009). He was nominated with partner Michael Stevens for a 2006 Chicago Film Critics Association Award for Original Score (Letters from Iwo Jima).
