Pieces of a Dream was formed in 1976 by James Lloyd, Curtis Harmon, and past member Cedric Napoleon when they were only 12 years old. At 13, they became the house band on a local Philadelphia TV show, which led to their being discovered by Grover Washington Jr. Their first record was released when they were 16 and they haven't looked back.
James Lloyd is a very prolific, well known songwriter in Smooth Jazz. He writes so many more songs than Pieces of a Dream can use that he is always a guest songwriter on a large number of quite diverse Smooth Jazz CDs.
