    Out-of-doors in downtown San Jose, indoors in bars and restaurants, add in food and arts and crafts vendors all within a few city blocks and you have the San Jose Jazz Festival. Jazz, smooth, fusion, and straight ahead, Salsa, Latin Jazz, Blues, R&B, and Hip Hop on 8 stages, 100,000 people of all ages, for 3 days each August, come together in the California sun to enjoy music. This once free festival cost a mir $40 for all 3 days, or $15 per day, well worth the investment.
     
    A must on anyone's list who has a diverse interest in music. Many hotels are within walking distance of the stages, providing free parking and other amenities. Excellent restaurants of all levels of $$$ are within walking distance, and the festival provides a variety of foods and beverage from different local vendors.
